Dancing Queen

Somebody got her dance recital costume yesterday and looooves it! The problem is I need to keep it clean until the performance which is hard when she wants to wear it all the time. It is hard to explain that to her and even harder when she looks this cute (and happy) in it!

AR is ONE!

Today we celebrated this little sunshine's birthday as well as Tom & Adele's survival of the first year of parenthood! Mama & Papa Yonchak were great hosts and we all had a great time doting over our favorite one year old! We love you Anne Rankin!

Rainy Day Fun

After this bit of entertainment we headed over to the Regional Library to make the 2:00 storytime (now that I knew what day it is on)... only to discover that all storytimes have been cancelled for the month of May! Are we ever going to make it to that program?

Project in Progress

I informed Jim that for Mother's Day I wanted to do "my" outdoor chalkboard project. It was a beautiful weekend so everyone enjoyed being outside and since it really was a full family affair that made me happy.

The supplies ran more then the project guide I had seen but we both agreed that the magnetic primer will be a fun addition. I took forever to pick out the right shade of bright outdoor paint while Jim critiqued the plywood sheets to try and get the smoothest one possible. All while Addie was able to run up and down the oversized aisles to hers heart's content.

2 coats of outdoor sealer on the back & 2.5 coats of magnetic primer on the front complete.

Unfortunately it will be a few weeks before we can officially check this off as complete. (Busy weekends in and out of town.) We are wasting no time though and are already playing with some magnets out there. Looking forward to being able to draw on it so be sure to check back for our first masterpiece though.

Yummy dinner at Brio - fully loaded with carbs and only thing left to do is get a good night's rest.

My college bestie and roommate hosted us for the weekend. One of the main reasons I picked the Cincinnati race. I also got to see lots of my other Ohio girls which was awesome!

My buddy, Becky and I waiting in our starting corral or Pig Pens as they were called.

We were only about a minute off the start line.

And we are off... even though I was awake since 4:45am the nervous excitement had me WIDE awake!

Thankful Becky ran with her phone. This is the bridge back into Ohio. 
Yes the course went into Kentucky for a little while.

She and I parted ways about mile 5. Jim jumped on the course for about 100 yards each time he found me (Miles 9, 14 & 17) and then another college roommate, Amy, ran with me from 22 to 26. 
My supporters were amazing!

I heard Jim & Tanna cheering but couldn't look anywhere but straight ahead.

Almost at the Finish Swine and giving it all I had left.

I DID IT! Official Time: 3:42:22

I ended up staying at the finish line so could cheer Becky across.

Then we loaded up on all the post-race snacks together. There was so much food... but the first thing we each had was a doughnut even though neither could finish it.

Tough course & hot day but mission complete!
