Ladies Who Lunch

It was quit the big girl day today! We met friends for manicures and pedicures (a first for most of the little ones) then all went out to lunch. It was so nice not to be rushed to be anywhere else. I let Addie pick the colors for us both. We agreed we should match but I did have to steer her aware from her first choice. Frozen tattoos and neon blue nails might be a bit much for Easter.

She traded necklaces with Miss Hillary and was in such awe of her jewels for the meal.

Hand-Me-downs

Since Addie will be taking over the current guest room, it was necessary to take all the clothes out of that closet. I told myself I could not move any item into my closet without trying it on and really plan to wear. So my new project begun - go through and purge my closet of things I need to stop hanging onto. I finally admitted that I am not going to take business attire to get altered. Even if they fit better, I can wear yoga pants to work for goodness sakes! I also certainly do not need to have bridesmaid dresses from weddings 10 years ago. Pictured to the left, Addie is modeling a windbreaker I wore in high school, YES HIGH SCHOOL! {Stop the hording tendencies!}

First I donated a few dresses to Prom Project. Then I took a huge stack of clothes to JT Posh, a high end consignment shop, to sell. While they only took 4 items, 3 have sold and I made an easy $54.  I took that same stack to Clothes Mentor but they had similar high standards so only made $9 on a single sundress. {I have now seen the light!} None of the original stack of clothes were allowed back into my closet! I have started trying on more and more things and have 2 new stacks forming... one for consignment and another for Goodwill. Not to be dramatic, but it is very freeing!

Frozen Obsessed

Here is Anna & Elsa! These two are officially obsessed with all things Frozen. During the recent snow Addie "froze" everything and of course when it came time to ask her "Do You Want To Build A Snowman?" even I got excited.

THIS was from awhile ago and she knows the song much better now but enjoy a little performance of "Let It Go". I even know the words to every single song on the soundtrack because it is rare that anything else is being played when we are in my car together.

Future Employee?!

I have mentioned before how she loves her YMCA name tag, well she insisted on wearing it to her second day of school so she could show Ms. Courtney (her teacher).

Its Electric!

How many ways can you make a 5k new and exciting? The running world is sure trying to keep things fresh. Last year we did The Color Run and this time we tried The Electric Run. Just a good excuse to have a good laugh and wear matching outfits!

Seeing Green

And few weeks ago I wasn't sure I had any good St Patrick's Day outfit, so went online and ordered this little cotton dress. Turns out I was able to put something fun together for four days!

Thursday - St Patrick's Day Party at Preschool

A Leprechaun (aka me & a work friend) came and visited her classroom while they were on the playground. I wish I could have stayed and captured their reaction but was trying so get in and out of there as quickly as possible. (Perk of working in the same building!)

Friday - "Call Me Maybe"
(Wish you could see the shamrock socks - last year Target dollar bin purchase.)

Friday night - Spicing things up

Saturday morning - Shamrock Shuffle
A new 5k personal record for mommy (20:30) and another "Fun Run" for Addie.

Saturday - On the way to dinner. A typical "photo session" these days! :-)

(This is the best family shot we got.)

Sunday - Impromptu dinner with The Barry's

Diva-licious

Something we have learned about being parents of our little one... A quiet Addie can mean one of three things: 1, she is reading books in her room, 2, she is hiding in a corner pooping (that is the final potty training step she can not seem to overcome), or 3, she is getting into something she probably shouldn't be.

This morning that something was my makeup drawer. (Child locks have become pretty pointless). While I was packing our lunches she thought she needed a little something extra for school today. Doesn't she look fabulous?!

Yee-haw

Look what we bought! I tried to talk her into a brown pair with pink trim but she would hear nothing about that once she laid eyes on this pink pair with sparkles. They are certainly the new favorite accessory!

A glimpse into the future perhaps?!

A Victoria's Secret bag in one hand and a Coach sandal in the other. Help me now!

Don't worry, I was able to successfully lure her away with the promise off flip flops. She got these as a gift, (either her birthday or Christmas) but I knew well enough to keep them hidden until the weather was right. You will not see her without these for a long time.

Happy Girl!

Compromise

Polo dress, pajamas & Keens were the perfect combo for today! Is there any question who added what to the ensemble? (PS - this seems to be her official "cheese" pose but the tongue out is new.) Little ham!

Accesory Queen

While it seems I can no longer just dress her up how I want, I do giggle at what she comes up with! A tu-tu and rain jacket seem like a perfect idea for a trip to Home Depot with daddy. (Plus a Valentine's Day shirt.)

The first of many addition updates

Two days in and I already don't recognize our back yard. This is the view I came home to today.

Deck, back siding, side fence demo-ed and everything cleaned up.  Krause Renovations have been great - even moved the last of the tree mulch and transplanted some azalea bushes along the back fence!

While the work kept mini-me from really napping today, she did enjoy playing on the tractor.  (Wish I'd had my camera handy for that.)  Who operates machinery in a linen dress?  Well, a girl should always look her best and I do love a monogram!
