First the Expo and now the prestigious finish line - WOW!
A shout out to my amazing support team: Mom & Dad, thanks for making the trip. It was such a boost to have you there. Lidia & Joe, thanks for keeping Addie. All my friends for joining me on countless training miles and for tracking & cheering me on from home. The biggest THANK YOU goes to Jim. My legs may log the miles, but it certainly is a team effort - I love you!
How did the hotel know?! A handicap accessible room and a bottle of wine.
Before (5AM) and after the race (3PM). Yes, it was a long journey... to get to and through the race. Notice the missing watch in the before picture?! Thanks to the stranger on the train who let me borrow his phone to call Jim and another thank you to him for navigating the city to meet me around mile 9 with my Garmin and a message - SLOW DOWN! I had no idea what to expect from my body but the crowd's energy was unbelievable and contagious, it really did carry me thru. I hurt but still surprised how well I ended up on a tough course and hot day. Official time - 3:53:39!
Reunited with my little buddy! She was bouncing off the walls with excitement to see us! This was the longest we had ever gone without seeing her so I was pretty happy to have her in my arms as well.
Boston you are awesome and can't wait to come back to you!
